Scrabble enthrallment prevailed over watching the Canada-Switzerland Olympic game, for 22 of us last Thursday. Good choice! But ouch, for Sunday night’s loss to Team USA.

Vimalan and Charles, missing in Scrabble action till last Thursday, have not forgotten what it takes to win – both went 3-0. Absence makes the heart grow fonder does not apply at the club guys – we’d like to see you more often. Joining the winner’s circle are: Geoffrey N and Jean, and Jim – with a season leading 6 perfect nights.

Ann had a new high game of 450 – nicely done! Mike, making his second appearance in as many weeks, also had a new personal best of 418. Ditto for Geoffrey N, with 537. And Jim, who is lighting up this ratings report in several categories, checks in with a new high game of 551.

I’m happy to report that the highest ratings gainer of the evening was Jean (me!), proceeding 34. Mike makes a major move, with 32 points up the chart. Geoffrey and Vimalan push forward 30, while Charles ascends 27. Jim pads his first place position with 25 more points.

Club championship “A”: Not much going on here. Geoffrey advances one spot in the standings with his 27 point climb.

Club championship “B”: Jean moves up a few spots, with a 35 point jump. Allan increases by 15 and Sophia advances 12.
