Green Light

Dave’s Scrabble road this season, has been pretty much a clear stretch of green lights.  He’s up 177 points since the season opener, reflected in his 3-0  showing last Thursday, when he put 33 more points in the gas tank.  Dave’s club rating breaks 1400 for the first time, and his NASPA rating cracked 4 digits, following a good showing at the recent Guelph tournament.   Dave is in peak performance mode.  Keep going Dave and enjoy the ride!

Sophia also flexed some muscle last week.   When Sophia wins, she likes to win big.  Her 3-0 record included an upset of Scrabble guru Vijay, a new high game of 478 and a new 3 game high of 1300.  Nice work Mrs. Ozorio and here’s 36 rating points for your trouble.

Joy floated her rating 16 points higher and enjoyed a new 3 game high of 1166.  But she’s still in search of her first perfect Thursday night record.  If she builds on last week’s momentum, she won’t be denied much longer.

It was nice to see Geoff and Julia return after a short hiatus.  And one of our former directors, Gene, has been making his presence a little more regular at the club – great!

Club championship B division:  Dave continues in cruise control, in top spot, widening his gap between his top rival and wife, Shauna.  Sophia, in her Scrabble groove shot up 37 points on this chart.

Club championship A division:  Craig and Jason are making baby steps towards top position, up 14 and 13 points respectively.

We announced new club t-shirts and hoodies last Thursday.  Stay tuned for our on-line poll, as we decide upon a new club slogan.
