The “A” group has a new inductee!  Congratulations Shauna, for recording another perfect Scrabble evening and surpassing 1500 for the first time, with a new peak of 1504.  The cherry on top is a new high game of 532.  

Welcome back from vacation Yvonne.  She’s back, with another 3-0 record, and 28 more points.  Lou and Valeria also enjoy 3-0 fanfare.  Second place Lou gains 38 points on first place Jim, and Valeria ascends 22. 

I was waiting to see if Jim would grab that one tiny, little point, to be the first to cross 2000 with his club rating this season.  Not this week, his opponents step up and make him wait a little longer. 

Lilla enjoyed a new high game of 513 and Gene also posted his season’s best with 537.  

In the  club championship B group, Shauna usurps power and first place from hubby and Scrabble adversary Dave.  Its turning into a tight race between this dynamic husband-wife team…well, they’re not a team on this chart I guess.  Valeria makes a big gain of 30, and has a strong hold on third, but a steep climb to the top. 

In the club championship A group, Yvonne has the biggest gain, up 27.  Back from a 5 week vacation, she’s making up for lost time. 

Jim donated a special $5 prize and John D. upped it to $6, for the highest scoring word containing the letters “J” ,”S” and “V”.  Su won this prize for her word “JIVES”.  Su kept the special prize theme rolling, by donating $3 for the highest scoring word containing the most letters found in Rita Norr’s name – a tribute to a Scrabble friend and apparently very strong player, who is no longer with us.  Valeria pointed out to me, that you can read about Rita Norr here
