Welcome!  Heather and Risa, who visited from the Toronto club, to warm up for the Nationals.  I enjoyed the infusion of feminine energy into our Scrabble evening, as the girls are outnumbered at our club, week in and week out. 

Our Craig is enjoying his usual 4 week frolic through Europe, this time with Mark at his side.  We’ll miss them but look forward to Craig’s  beautfiul travelogue. 

Tony, who registerd his lucky 13th club game, emerged 3-0, and enhanced his rating by 31.  He has the best winning percentage, at almost 77%.  Valeria also pulled  out 3 wins, to fast forward 19 points.  Jeff was another ratings winner, moving up 22. 

Somewhere over the last 4 weeks, (when we did not post stats), Jim was the first to crack 2000 – congratulations!  His current rating of 2017 keeps him at the head of the pack. 

Club championship, A Group:    There is nothing noteworthy for me to report.  Its not much of a race, as leader Jim looks like he will coast to the podium with only a month or so until we wrap up this season.  Second place Craig is not around to mount the surprise comeback.

Club championship B Group:  Shauna likes her top spot and puts more distance between her and second place Dave.  But Valeria jumped a few spots to third, with her perfect record in hand and a dazzling 28 point climb.
