Our 2024 Outdoor Tournament was chillier than expected, but the hardy Scrabble spirit kept us cozy.
“Even though it was a bit chilly, I think it was great how everyone went with the flow and when there was a big gust of wind everyone ooohed and awwwed. It actually felt a little bit like a family picnic and it was so nice to see everyone and even sitting so close and without dividing the divisions up to all sit together. I had some great chats with people who were in other divisions that I probably wouldn’t have had if we were separated and in a larger group. I loved it… it was a real treat. Anyway, I know scrabble players sometimes like to complain but I wanted to let you know it was great. ”

Hi Shan, thanks for much for holding this event and for all your work, in preparation for, and during the tournament . I loved reading my friend Ben Lam’s message, it was spot on. I felt as if I was at a big family reunion, made even more fun since we all have a common interest, a love for the game of scrabble and a love for the scrabble community. Sampling all the different food was wonderfuL, and catching up with old friends was so sweet. Hopefully, if people are interested, we can do a WGPO tournament down the road in my home town, St. Catharines. Our public library is eager and on board to hold a WGPO scrabble event.
