Magic Q

• Goal: One random 5-letter word that starts with Q (from NWL) is the secret Magic Word. If you play it, you win! The word was randomly selected, but only the Magician knows what it is.
• Crossouts: A printed list of all 80 of the 5-letter words starting with Q is provided at club. Every time one is played, that player crosses it off the list and will win $1. The word must contain a natural Q tile (that means you can use a blank for one of the other letters if desired). You cannot cross out a word that has already been crossed out. CSW-only words can also be crossed out.
• Magic Hat: $2 is added to the Magic Hat each night the Magic Word isn’t found and $2 is added to the Magic Hat for every word that is crossed out. In the last round, there were 31 crossouts, so $31 has been added as seed money.
• Big Win: Once the Magic Word is played, the following week the Magic Word will be revealed and that player wins the Magic Hat jackpot! Then it resets and the game starts anew.
